Beyond the individual benefits, the funds raised by the P&C have a great impact on the school environment. We use the profits we make to support extra-curricular activities, programs and contribute directly to various school projects, in line with our annually approved strategic direction and objectives, as directed by the membership. All of this is decided and voted on by our members at our monthly meetings. Below are some examples of what the P&C has been able to achieve for Pullenvale State School with the funds raised:
- A classroom bursary of $1000 for each year level, which teachers can use to purchase items to enhance the learning process.
- $30,000 raised to date towards new senior play spaces – current fundraising goal.
- $40,000 donation towards our prep playground renovation
- $6000 contribution towards decodable readers for the junior school
- Extra shading and seating around the school
- Sporting facilities – such as the netball courts
- Landscaping and classroom refurbishments
- Replacement and relocation of the groundsman’s shed
- Investment in to a SchoolTV subscription to support parents, children, teacher and community mental health and education.
- Ongoing social events to encourage connection and social fulfillment
- Contributions to the wellbeing program and supplementation of salary
